ABOUT THE CLINIC
The Hakuna Matata Therapeutic Clinic is a private clinic, situated in the Tojal Gardens in Loures, Registered with the Portuguese Health Regulatory Entity (nº E152425). It´s purpose is to promote the well being and global development of children and their families. It pretends to offer a space where the child can enter a fairytale world where all the emotions of the rainbow are acessible, through play therapy directed by the terapist, who will help him/her to comunicate, understand and better deal with him/her feelings and thoughts. It also pretends to be a service in aiding parents in that which is the very damanding task of parenting, breaking down fears ans helping parents undertand theis child´s communication as well as their difficulties.
The techniques used at this Clinic are totally child directed, dependent on the child´s interests and personality, whereby it is through avrious types of play that the child comuncates his/her dificulties and is helped in finding alternative resources in order to deal with whatever causes him/her suffering. His/Her potencialites and sel esteem are promoted and solutions are found together for his/her vulnerabilities.
The child´s whole context is assessed, always in colaboration with the schools and the family, with interventions in those contexts whenever necessary and with teletherapy whenever it is necessary or helpful.
